Nutrient dense: Provide significant nutrients for modest amounts of calories in comparison to energy dense which provide significant calories and low levels of nutrients

Recipes

Our recipes are developed to facilitate functional weekday cooking.  To achieve this, we utilize three types of recipes:

1.  On-the-Go

  • Yield: 1 portion
  • Uses less than 5 ingredients
  • Takes less than 10 minutes to prepare

2.  Weekday Fresh

  • Yield: 2 portions
  • Uses less than 10 ingredients
  • Takes less than 30 minutes to prepare

3.  Bulk

All of Perfectly Produce’s recipes are developed from the foundation of maximizing nutrient density and using proper portion sizes.

Recipe Format

The recipes are formatted with a left side column that indicates the source of macronutrients.  Sources of carbohydrate are designated with a “C”, protein with a “P” and fat with an “F”.  These values do not affect the preparation of the recipe but are an important tool that we use to ensure the macronutrients are balanced at each meal.  Each meal portion contains 4 servings of carbohydrate sources (4C), 3 servings of protein (3P) and 3 servings of fat (3F).

The macronutrient designations can also become a valuable resource to you when making substitutions.  Simply replace one ingredient with an ingredient of similar macronutrient composition.  Again, it is not necessary to understand this tool but we are confident you’ll come to appreciate its value as much as we have.
